But here I am a decade later, trying to hold a yoga pose in "Wii Fit" ($89.99, Wii Balance Board included), an entertaining, innovative fitness game that will help Nintendo further widen the definition of "gamer."

"Wii Fit" is built around Nintendo's new Balance Board, a rectangular, pressure-sensitive platform about the size of a bathroom scale. The wireless, battery-powered accessory measures not only a player's weight but also the center of..."

We are slated to get the Wii Fit next week! I know it's a little weird, but my husband had a chance to try it and he thought it was awesome. I am looking forward to it! This is the kind of bizarre, strange innovation that I enjoy in my platforms.

As comparison, I also enjoyed the XBox exercise game... whose title I can't recall at...

Quote: "Yesterday, Nintendo held a day-long "Wii Fit" launch event in New York City's Central Park.

The press release promised that I'd see "Hundreds of consumers of all ages twisting and tilting their bodies atop the innovative Wii Balance Board."

As I left MTV's Time Square office at 11:30a.m. yesterday, on a somewhat rainy and overcast day, I didn't expect to see "hundreds" of people there.

But I was wrong. Under little tents at the Merchants' Gate area of the park, throngs of people..."

This makes perfect sense. While Wii Fit is a game, in that it's a software program released on a game console, and it has some distinctly game-like elements (unlocking new exercises, etc.), in practice, it's much more a piece of fitness equipment (however low impact) than it is a piece of entertainment software.

Take this theory -...

Quote: "The blogger of the enthusiastically-named "Wii Fit is It" blog (is Coke not it anymore? ) apparently works for a very progressive company. His workplace provides each employee a $150 allowance for exercise equipment or services. Instead of getting a gym membership or a Gazelle Edge (sorry, BallyTotalFitnessFanboy.com and TonyLittleFanboy.com), he got a copy of Wii Fit.

Apparently, the person in charge of approving the claims knew all about Wii Fit (possibly from having the television on or any magazine open..."

Wii fit games are starting to call for a new genre: The exercise game. Youtubes are starting to pop up of people playing games with this and it looks pretty cool.

Last year's E3 launched such hits as "Wii Fit," "Grand Theft Auto IV" and "Rock Band". I wonder what this year will bring?

Quote: "(CNN) -- Bloggers can't stop gossiping. Readers can't stop guessing. Now, after months of waiting, three big names will finally address the rumors.

Nintendo's Wii Fit was a big hit at last year's E3. What surprises will next week's show bring?

No, not Madonna, A-Rod, or Lenny Kravitz, but another big-name trio with just as much swirling drama: Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony.

The big three players of the nearly $37.5 billion video-gaming industry will reveal their newest, biggest and most secretive products in..."

Overall, I'm quite happy. Especially from the Final Fantasy portion. However, I am quite disappointed that the Halo milking/cheesing/aging process wasn't announced. :/

First up was a demo of Fallout 3 that didn't expose anything new other than black and white propaganda commercials. It's super gory, looks freakin' amazing and was said to come loaded with future DLC plans. Bethesda was actually quite excited about the great amount of planned DLC. Hope you like paying for extra content!

Next up was a surprisingly brief demo of Resident Evil 5..."

Look, I acknowledge Miyamoto is a genius when it comes to game design; however, banning him from discussing his hobbies to prevent the leakage of billion dollar game ideas is crazy?! GEEEZ MAN!!! But Seriously, I doubt anything Miyamoto say is going to be worth billions right off the bat, it takes time and investment to make bathroom scales...

Shigeru Miyamoto: the man whose hobbies are worth billions.(Source: Unknown.)

Here's an interesting bit out of left field: Shigeru Miyamoto, the famed game designer and creator of Mario, Donkey Kong, Zelda, Pikmin, and Star Fox series - among others - is reportedly banned by Nintendo from discussing his hobbies with the general public. Why?

"Any glimpse inside his head could be worth billions," reads..."

I love articles like this. I think it is weak that some of the games mentioned are not released in the US.

Some of the titles listed don't yet have US release dates (The Last Guy, Ghostbusters, Fatal Frame), but we're confident they'll be hitting our shores sooner rather than later. And like any great horror game, the ones listed below require you to rely on your noggin (and a small arsenal) to make it through in one piece.

SSBB sold five an a half million? Geez. The game was alright, but the online implementation was so phenomenally awful that it boggled the mind. I guess Nintendo's right - people just don't care. Pathetic.

I dunno if I'm really an outlier or what, but I thought the AI in Mario Kart Wii was so terrible that it made the game nearly...

The NPD Group, GfK Chart-Track Limited and Enterbrain have joined forces to release the Top Global Markets Report, the first report to combine point-of-sales data for video game sales in the world's largest games markets, aka the U.S., U.K. and Japan.

The soon to be monthly report will give a break down of the top titles by country and worldwide.

"The video games business has become increasingly global, with the majority of the publishers releasing games in multiple markets," said..."
