I can't really see this being well done into Games For Windows. The 360 and Ps3 as well as their predecessors in the PC controller business were well suited to the type of games but a Wiimote? Especially with the touch screen as it may end up with Iphone-keyboard performance. I'm quite skeptical on its success

Quote: "July 2, 2008 - PC gamers aren't exactly renowned for their affinity for novelty gaming, or at the very least, the over-simplified type offered by systems like Nintendo's Wii. However, developers GoLive2 are making strides to bridge the casual PC gaming gap with their latest product, the Stix. The Stix is a motion interactive controller for the PC that looks and shares a control layout that is strikingly similar to Nintendo's Wiimote. Unlike a Wiimote, however, the Stix features a..."

This is going to be a huge lawsuit. The "weemote" is a tv remote for little kids while the "wiimote" is obviously for the wii.
Source: time.com
Quote: "If you're a videogamer, chances are you think that you have heard about a snappy little gadget called the Weemote. But as the startup that makes the product is learning the hard way, it's probably just a case of mistaken identity.
Though it is pronounced (and almost spelt) the same, The Weemote is not the same as the Wiimote, the popular nickname for the remote control used in the blockbuster Nintendo video game system, the Wii, which has so far sold..."

He had better take something from this. Me being me, I'm not a giant fan of the zelda or mario games so Miyamoto has not done much for me directly (ie don't comment about his influence >_>) in the area of hardcore gaming. Instead of overreliance on casual and the occasional uber-cutsey game, I hope he takes something from this experience.

From the very moment the Wii was announced, it was a foregone conclusion that Lucasarts would be working on a Wii lightsaber game. For Nintendo to have not even mentioned the MotionPlus to them... wow. That's almost criminal.

I've heard Tropic Thunder is an awesome movie, but I'm a little uncomfortable with Morton Downey in blackface. In the movie, Ben Stiller's manager plays fitness games on the Wii.

But on to my point. I couldn't help but notice two fairly large nods to gaming and one relatively sly one in the movie.

This looks like it could be decent for the Wii -- it has got be hard/tricky to make a great FPS for the controller.

A lot of the buzz around the Wiimote, when it was first introduced in the fall of 2005, was centered around the fact that the direct-pointing capability of the device would make it perfect for playing first-person shooters with pinpoint accuracy. Nintendo made this crystal-clear at the first hands-on demo of the device at Tokyo Game Show, when it let us play a version of..."

They want to be the lowest priced console and are cutting the "arcade" version to $199 in the US (as well as Japan). Psychologically, the $200 price point is significant for consumers so this is a (desperate?) strategic move to blunt some of the Wii and PS3 momentum.

Quote: "One of the the biggest selling points of Nintendo's Wii video game console since its launch nearly two years ago has been that it was the lowest-priced of the trio of next-generation machines, which also includes Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Sony's PlayStation 3.
To date, the Wii costs $249, while the lowest-priced Xbox, the so-called "Arcade," retails currently for $279. An 80GB PS3 sells for $400.
But Microsoft said Wednesday that it will drop the price of the Arcade on Friday to..."
