There isn't too much detail in the news article but Trion has raised $70 Million for server based online games -- basically MMOG's. I guess this is a large amount, but I would think to build something like WoW, you need a huge budget. At least one bigger than the budget of GTA IV.

Some interesting stats are that game hardware is a bigger industry than making games. I guess that is pretty obvious. Another trend is that the PC gaming industry is bigger than the console industry by far.
