So it's with delight that we learn Majesco will be releasing a new Cooking Mama title this year, and an all-new one to boot...."

Oh, hell yes. As much as people hate on Jamie Oliver, the guy made cooking accessible for me. His recipes are both easy and delicious - a great way to get started cooking. I had hoped Cooking Mama would get people excited about cooking, and be a great game - unfortunately, it failed on both counts. This, I'm really looking forward to.

Hrm. Speaking of cooking-themed games...

This actually looks like it might be worth picking up, and more along the lines of what Cooking Mama should have been all along.

Quote: "A Cooking Mama clone that isn't foul.

When developers get a good whiff of an innovative idea, it's not long before the clones start cooking. Take the Cooking Mama series -- this surprising little treat proved that making fake food can be a helluva lot of fun. And now that Mama is rolling in the dough, other developers are looking to get into the kitchen, too.

While Order Up! is a Cooking Mama clone on the surface, the finished product's actually..."

I'm really looking forward to this, and from the impressions, it sounds like it'll be really worthwhile. I'd like to see more of the gameplay, though.

Quote: "Looks like Atari came a little late to the Cooking Mama cash-in party. Stuff like Cooking Academy and Happy Cooking Coach is hitting shelves a whole month sooner than What's Cooking? With Jamie Oliver. But at least the game will be in good company - Iron Chef for DS and Wii ships the same day.

When I sat down for some hands-on with with What's Cooking, I looked for what set the game apart - expecting some tiny add-on feature or..."

Iron Chef America: Supreme Cuisine takes Cooking Mama to a new level. Based on the popular television show Iron Chef America--which was based on the Japanese television show--this Nintendo Wii game by Black Lantern Studios allows you to participate in the madness of culinary battles. Although it is definitely not as hard as the real thing, Iron Chef does allow you..."

I loved these books! These are educational games, but regular Goosebump games would be cool too.

I totally played the PETA version, but it was unintentionally hilarious instead of making me feel repulsed by the idea of cleaning and cooking animals. I cook a lot with meat, and once in a while, I feel squeamish, but I don't mind that they were once alive, as long as they are raised humanely and killed humanely.

The response was...

Quote: "Mama just wants to make the nice people happy! This is the gist of a press release issued by Majesco Entertainment on behalf of Mama herself in response to PETA's recently released flash game, Cooking Mama: Mama Kills Animals. The release highlights the more than 25 vegetarian-friendly recipes available in Mama's latest game, Cooking Mama World Kitchen, out this week for the Nintendo Wii.

The release goes on to state that Mama, while not a vegetarian herself, fully supports the humane..."

Quote: "As everybody with a brain knows, PETA is an insane organization full of insane people with an insane agenda. However, they do love their videogames, so that makes them alright by us. The animal rights group has taken a significant interest in gaming lately, following its self-publicized Sega ad petition and spat with Cooking Mama. With this in mind, we figured it wouldn't be long before PETA starts singling out more videogames as evil anti-animal propaganda. After all, a great..."
